Thank you LARMENIER!😋😍😜❤️

Hi this is DMF and NB.

We have just had the best part of this AMAZING holiday.

Today we all went to an amazing, awesome, fantastic, cool, fun WATER PARK 💦. And it was so good that we all spent 4 hours playing in the water!!!

The weather was perfect and the SLIDES were so cool. There were 3 awesome slides. One was long and curved with some really fun quick turns ,another was fun and really long and the last (our favourite) was extremely fast and was full of quick turns and fun sudden bobs in all directions. They were all epic!!!!!!!

I think we all have had the time of our lives and are all extremely lucky to have such an incredibly amazing school that organises such fantastic opportunities for us to do THANK YOU LARMENIER!

We are all missing you at home and even though it is magically wonderful here in Italy 🇮🇹 I bet we all can’t wait to be back in your arms at home.

Church Architecture

Today we learnt about the different styles of buildings in St Francis cathedral.

The styles are called: Gothic and Romenethque.

Romanesque has a rounded arch and Gothic has a pointed arch (see below).

On our first day, we had some delicious ice cream!😋 we decided to order it in Italian. To order a chocolate ice cream you say: “vorrei un cono con una pallina di cioccolato”

St. Francis and San Damiano.

Today we went to San Damiano and Brother Eunan spoke to us about the life of St Francis.

St. Francis was born in 1182 and lived for 44 years. His father was an Italian merchant and his mother was French.

When he was 19, he decided to Become a knight. He was captured by the opposition (Perugia) For around one year.

Later on in his life, he was praying in a chapel in front of a  crucifix when it began to tell him to rebuild the church. He sold all of his father’s clothes and his horse to generate money so he could rebuild the church where the crucifix was.

He then Took on a vow of Poverty and threw away all of his nice clothes and wore a habit instead.

Near his death, he recieved the stigmata wounds. (the wounds of Jesus on the cross.)
