This academic year (2020-21), Relationships Education and Health Education will become statutory in all primary schools in England. This new subject will build on the non-statutory lessons that schools have previously taught in Relationships and Sex Education (RSE).
As part of implementing the RSE curriculum, schools must consult with parents/carers to ensure there is a general consensus on our approaches to policy and the curriculum content.
Larmenier & Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School will start the consultation process on Thursday 12th November 2020 and it will end on Friday 18th December 2020. The consultation process will take place in three parts:
Part 1 (12th November – 22nd November 2020)
Parents/Carers are asked to read through and consider the following two documents:
- The Draft Relationships and Sex Education Policy – November 2020.pdf
- The Primary Catholic RSE Curriculum Overview.pdf
Part 2 (23rd November – 18th December 2020)
Parents/Carers are asked to use the Ten Ten online Parent Consultation Tool – this is a simple-to-follow, short online course.
Details on how to access this resource will be emailed to all parents/carers on the week beginning 23rd November 2020.
Part 3 (30th November – 18 December 2020)
Parents/carers offered the opportunity to provide feedback as part of the consultation via an online survey. This survey will be emailed to them on 30th November 2020.
Completed surveys should be submitted to the school by 3.00pm on Friday 18th December 2020.
